1st Chemo day

Getting ready to go to get my hair cut short and then first chemo. I do have butterflies in my stomach and I don't know why...except the dread of having a needle stuck in my chest! And having my head frozen!
Here's a pic of the Paxman contraption that may or may not save some of my hair.  I guess it's fear of the unknown and once I get through the first one, I'll know what to expect. I'll try to post after the treatment but I have no idea how I'll feel.

Ok, blogging from my chemo chair, got my hair cut really short, getting pre meds, with paxman freezing my head. All the nurses are really nice and help each other and all the patients and there are many! Will be starting chemo in a few. Almost done at 4:10, chemo is done but hair thing has 40 minutes to go. Chemo went fine, hair thing gave me a splitting headache. Also got the nuelasta patch which will give me a injection (which will boost white blood cell production) in about 27 hours. I will be glad to go home and be done for 2 weeks. They say if I'm going to be nauseous it will be in a couple days so I will wait and see.

OK, I'm home at 5pm from 11:30 appt. My headache went away as soon as I took all that stuff off. This was the process: strong anti-nausea medication, flush line, another anti-nausea medication, flush line, chemo, flush line, chemo, flush line. So now I'm going to enjoy my "approved" "occasional" glass of wine and watch hours of mindless TV. Night, all!
