Week one

First week of radiation is done. It's going OK. I go in, change into a gown, wait in a waiting room for a minute or so then they call me in. I'm in the waiting room with guys who are getting radiation for prostate cancer. They've been going every day for 43 days...my 20 days is nothing compared to that. Once in the room I lay on a table (no pad so it kills my back for a few minutes) with my arms above my head and the techs line my tattoos up. This is a picture of the machine.
Then they leave the room and the machine starts moving around. I get "zapped" 4 times, 2 for 20 seconds, 2 for 25 seconds. Then the techs come back, help me up, I get dressed and I'm done. Except on Thursday cause I see the doctor every Thursday. This week he just asked how I was doing, I said fine and that was it.

Hair is growing a little, still white. Feeling in my fingers seems to be coming back but toes are still bad. Hate it! Still no eyebrows or eyelashes which is driving me crazy! Energy is coming back but I've realized I can't do stuff 3 days in a row yet, not enough breath! Not allowed in the pool, can't have chlorine where I'm getting radiated. Can't even have that area in the sun. All in all though, I'm doing fine. Three more weeks...7/22 I'll be done with most everything.
